Paul Walia, CPA
Principal
Paul is a results-driven Senior Finance Leader with over two decades of financial leadership experience, dedicated to achieving organizational objectives. His expertise covers Accounting (IFRS, GAAP, ASPE), Taxation, and Public & Private entity Reporting in multi-entity, multi-currency small to medium-sized enterprises. Paul is an expert at building, streamlining and managing financial operations for businesses ensuring they operate efficiently and profitably.
In addition to overseeing full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for both Public, and Private enterprises, Paul has extensive experience in strategic business planning, budgets cycle management, payroll management, Treasury operations, overseeing audits, and Business system implementations. Paul played an integral and leadership role in several acquisitions and divestitures throughout his career, gaining extensive experience in preparing pro-formas, due diligence, pre- and post-integration planning and execution. His international experience includes managing Accounting, Tax, and Reporting for entities in Canada, USA, UK, and France, demonstrating a deep understanding of global financial operations and compliance requirements.
As a proactive and dynamic leader, Paul has consistently delivered exceptional outcomes in demanding environments. Paul has been a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario since 2004 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from York University.
Richard Graham, CPA
Principal
Richard is a thought focused business leader with a CPA designation who works closely with businesses to help them improve their overall financial health and provide advice and counsel on strategic direction and day to day operational issues.
Prior to becoming an Advisor with Synergia, Richard spent over 25 years leading finance organizations in both the public and private sectors in various senior leadership and financial executive roles, in addition to acting as an independent business consultant to numerous smaller organizations.
Richard has a proven track record of balancing organizational compliance and governance programs with successful growth and innovative strategies. Creative, results-focused, decisive, and passionate about success Richard has helped lead organizational transformation from their infancy driving growth through both strategic acquisitions and organic growth.
He has been a critical member of M&A teams, that have been responsible for both the sale and acquisition of companies with a combined value of over $400M.
Richard continues to work today, in an advisory capacity with companies of all sizes looking to, better understand their financial operations and opportunities, develop growth strategies and related financial models, properly measure day to day operational performance, and provide business decision support. For companies evaluating a potential divestiture, Richard’s prior experience in both buy and sell side M&A, makes him uniquely suited to prepare your organization for a successful exit at maximum value.

With over two decades of hands-on leadership experience encompassing accounting, taxation, supply chain management, strategic planning, and business transformation, Navaid has consistently delivered outstanding results for stakeholders.
Navaid possesses a unique talent for dissecting complex processes and systems related issues, offering insightful solutions, and executing them with unwavering precision.
Armed with an MBA, a Chartered Management Accountant certification (Australia), and a Certified Credit Professonal designation from the Credit Institute of Canada, Navaid has excelled in a wide array of strategic roles spanning diverse industries such as telecom, IT, and consulting. Navaid’s comprehensive expertise and adaptable skill set make him an exceedingly valuable asset for any organization.
Shivam Soni, CPA, CA (Ind)

Shivam Soni is a seasoned finance expert with over 15 years of specialized experience in financial management, audits, financial reporting/analytics, and strategic advisory. As both a Chartered Accountant (CA) in India and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in Canada, Shivam combines his deep technical knowledge with a global outlook to deliver impactful, results-oriented solutions. Known for his sharp financial acumen and strategic foresight, he consistently helps businesses navigate complex financial landscapes, offering tailored guidance that drives growth and operational excellence.
Shivam’s career began with Deloitte, where he was instrumental in leading ERP implementations across Asia, across various industries, including hospitality, insurance, and asset management, helping businesses optimize their operations and maintain regulatory compliance. As his career advanced, he took on leadership roles in leading global media company from France and later with Telcom/Managed service company in Canada, where he led complex financial projects involving mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting improvements, multi region-currency reporting for companies in Canada/USA/UK/France and tax compliance. Most recently, Shivam successfully managed large-scale system implementations, IFRS implementation, acquisition/divesture accounting. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to solve complex financial challenges, strengthen internal controls, and navigate audits and regulatory requirements with precision.
